While the Green Bay Packers and Houston Texans had tempers flaring in their joint practice, the Jacksonville Jaguars and Baltimore Ravens had the polar opposite happen. Nick Foles noticed.

Before practice got underway, both teams took a knee to say a prayer for the recent shooting victims in El Paso and Dayton. After practice, Jaguars quarterback Nick Foles discussed the decision to take part in prayer with the Ravens.

The two mass shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, claimed over 30 innocent lives. In these trying times, people have to set aside their disagreements to come together as one.

That's exactly what the Jaguars and Ravens did: They took the time to hold a moment of silence for the victims and their families. It's unfathomable to think about what the victims' parents or kids are going through at this moment.

As Nick Foles said, there are things that happen off the football field and it's important to remember that. Fans may view NFL players as just athletes, but they are as human as everyone. They are affected and hurt as much as other Americans and the human family.

Sometimes NFL players have to put their jobs on hold to handle life's biggest obstacles. Whether their kids, parents, or loved ones, they have personal lives as well. The Ravens and Jaguars realized there are bigger things than football at times.

No matter what your religious beliefs are, it's great to see two teams come together to create a connection on the field over an immensely sad and tragic situation.
