Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Nick Foles is finally set to make his return against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 11 and with it, marks the official end of quarterback Gardner Minshew's tenure under center for the time being.

Foles was able to take advantage of the bye to get some extra work in with the offense after recovering from a broken collarbone he suffered in the 2019 NFL season opener. Although Minshew Mania may be over, he is still happy with what the rookie was able to do, via Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk.

“I’m proud of Gardner for everything he’s done. He’s a tremendous player. He’s been amazing in the QB room and I’ve really enjoyed watching him play and develop as a young player. I was once him, playing as a young player, and to see him playing at the level he has is amazing. He’s going to continue to develop and grow and have a great career and I’m excited for him,” Foles said.

There is certainly plenty of truth to Foles' comments. He had endured his fair share of trials and tribulations before emerging as star backup with the Philadelphia Eagles. There was a time when he was raising speculation about which quarterback would be the long-term starter in Philadelphia.

Foles was seemingly on the receiving end this time around with Minshew's emergence, however, talk has since cooled off following the recent downtick in his performance. If he struggles down the final stretch of the season, there will continue to be plenty of talk regarding which player is the better fit.

Regardless, the Jaguars can take solace in the fact that they appear to have a surplus at quarterback in a league where most teams are struggling to find even one competent starter.
