Despite drafting a highly desirable quarterback in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars had another brutal season. They finished at the bottom of the AFC South, only winning three of their 17 games.

Rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence was one of many players throughout the NFL and the professional world of sports to post retirement tributes for Tom Brady.

Sports radio personality Tyler Devitte tweeted a screenshot of Lawrence's retirement tribute, as well as Brady's response.

Following their rough season, this is the exact optimism that Lawrence and the Jaguars need moving forward. As a young quarterback, any compliment from the “greatest to ever do it” is huge. According to Brady, seven-time Super Bowl champion GOAT, “the future is bright” for Trevor Lawrence.

In his first year in the NFL, Lawrence threw 359 completions for 3,641 yards. He finished the regular season with a 59.6% completion percentage and a quarterback rating of 71.9. The rookie threw 12 touchdown passes and 17 interceptions, and was sacked 32 times.

Despite a rough first year, there is a lot of optimism for Lawrence moving forward, not just because Brady said so. The Jaguars are continuing their rebuild and looking for a new head coach for the upcoming season.

For the second year in a row, the Jaguars have the first pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. If things go well this offseason, Lawrence should have much more success than he did his first year in the league.
