Following another frustrating loss in week 2, the Jacksonville Jaguars‘ Twitter account posted a photo on their feed Sunday night which contained a quote from Head Coach Urban Meyer.

“Hang in there with us,” the quote read. “We're going to get better. The one thing about Jacksonville and the 904, go to sleep knowing there's not going to be any group working harder to get this thing flipped.”

The quote was tweeted after the Jaguars fell at home to the Denver Broncos 23-13, dropping Jacksonville to 0-2 (they lost to the Houston Texans 37-21 last week). Rookie quarterback and no. 1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence struggled in his second NFL outing, going 14-33 for just 118 yards and throwing two interceptions to just one touchdown.

“I thought we were better today than last week for sure,” Lawrence said after the game.

Meyer is right that his squad will get better, in the sense that they can't get much worse. The team is completing just 50% of its passes, which is the worst mark in the league through two games.

No one expected the Jaguars to be competitive before the season, so Jacksonville fans should've been mentally preparing for these sorts of struggles before week 1 kicked off. Even still, it's a nice sentiment for Meyer to throw out.

The Jaguars will square off against the 2-0 Arizona Cardinals this Sunday for their week 3 matchup.
