Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey recently said he wants to play for the team his entire career. But as it turns out, he might not have much time left in Jacksonville.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Jaguars are likely to consider putting their star cornerback on the trade block this offseason.

Ramsey is slowly but surely forcing the Jaguars into considering a blockbuster trade this offseason, league sources told ESPN.

One league source said he “absolutely” believes the Jaguars will entertain the idea of trading Ramsey, while an NFL general manager said he would not be surprised if that's the route the Jaguars decide to pursue.

Ramsey recently caused a stir with a cryptic tweet where he alluded to his future possibly being elsewhere. However, he clarified that he didn’t want to leave Jacksonville and that the tweet was directed at “fake fans” who have not continued to support the team amidst their tough season.

After surprisingly making it all the way to the AFC Championship Game last season, Ramsey and the Jaguars are a disappointing 3-6 and will likely miss out on the postseason barring a sudden turnaround.

Ramsey, who made first-team All-Pro last season, still has two more years left on his rookie contract with the Jaguars. Given his high level of play during his first two-plus seasons, he will likely demand a deal that will make him the highest-paid cornerback in the entire league.

If the Jaguars do decide to entertain trade offers for Ramsey, they’re bound to get a lot of suitors around the league for arguably the best young cornerback in the league.
