New Jersey Nets center Jahlil Okafor essentially has another chance to press the reset button on his tumultuous career thus far. However, that did not stop him from seemingly throwing shade at his former coaching staff with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Okafor recently expressed his excitement with finally being part of a team whose coaches have taken a hands-on approach with him. However, he has since voiced his displeasure saying his quote had been taken out of context, according to Jared Weiss of USA Today:

“I've expressed countless times the love I have for the Philly coaching staff. I don't “blame” them for anything. Hate that my quote was taken out of context. Nothing but love and appreciation for everyone there.”

It is no secret that things between Jahlil Okafor and the Sixers' coaching were not all kosher leading up to his departure. After an impressive start to his rookie year, the former third overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft had slowly but surely slipped out of Philadelphia's promising rotation.

While there were a number of issues that had factored into Okafor's diminished role, it seemed that part of the reason to him was the lack of involvement from the coaches. That said, it is tough to see what part of his original comments were taken out of context.
