Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell is one of the most dynamic young scorers in the league, and as a result of his 25-point performance in which he drained four 3-pointers in a win over the Charlotte Hornets on Monday night, Mitchell joined Damian Lillard to become the only two players in the history of the NBA to make 175 triples in each of their first two seasons:

On the season overall, Donovan Mitchell is averaging 23.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.4 steals over 33.7 minutes per game while shooting 43.1 percent from the floor, 35.6 percent from 3-point range and 79.8 percent from the free-throw line.

The 22-year-old, who played his collegiate basketball at the University of Louisville, was originally selected by the Denver Nuggets in the first round (13th pick overall) of the 2017 NBA Draft but was immediately traded to the Jazz.

He went on to have a fantastic rookie campaign, registering 20.5 points, 3.7 boards, 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals across 33.4 minutes a night while making 43.7 percent of his field goal attempts, 34 percent of his long-distance tries and 80.5 percent of his foul shots.

Many felt that Mitchell should have won the Rookie of the Year award, but the honor went to Philadelphia 76ers forward Ben Simmons, who was actually drafted in 2016 but missed the entire 2016-17 season due to injury.

As a result of Mitchell's fine sophomore campaign, the Jazz currently own a record of 47-30 and will be in the playoffs for the third straight year. They could face the Houston Rockets in the first round of the playoffs, the same Rockets team that eliminated them from the postseason in the second round last spring.
