It seems New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers will defy all odds and aim for a return to the gridiron in mid-December.

Aaron Rodgers revealed his plan to NBC Sports' Melissa Stark during the Jets' SNF game against the Las Vegas Raiders (via PFT's Mike Garafolo).

“Aaron Rodgers' goal is to return in mid-December, he told @melissastark, according to her report on NBC just now. Would be an incredible recovery and in time for a possible playoff push for the #jets,” Garafolo tweeted on Sunday night.

The way Rodgers mentioned his bold prophecy to Melissa Stark on SNF has confidence written all over it.

The Jets are currently in a tight game against the Raiders in Week 10. Should Gang Green prevail, they will improve their record to 5-4 on the season.

That's not bad at all considering some pundits downplayed the Jets' chances with Zach Wilson under center. To New York's credit, they haven't imploded after missing Aaron Rodgers' services for the past eight games.

The Jets are still in the thick of the postseason chase especially in light of the Buffalo Bills' recent struggles. Buffalo (5-4) and New York (4-4) are just half-a-game apart in the AFC East division standings.

If Robert Saleh's troops hold serve in the next month or so, they will solidify their postseason hopes with Aaron Rodgers at quarterback. One can only wonder how he will perform after missing several months due to his Achilles injury.

Aaron Rogers threw warmup passes on the sidelines during the Jets' Week 9 game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Apparently, it was a prelude to his shocking announcement on SNF one week later.

Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is about to conquer an impossible situation. Stay tuned.
