Don't call it a comeback! Vinny Curry, who's been here for years, is gonna rock his peers and put suckers in fear once again. The New York Jets made a surprising announcement on Wednesday that the veteran defensive end will suit up this coming season.

It was a pleasant development for the Jets, who are looking for any form of positivity after another dismal campaign last season. The 33-year-old Curry was supposed to join the team last year but he got diagnosed with a rare blood disorder, leading to the removal of his spleen. He missed the 2021 season and was released by the Jets last January.

But now, he's back. And Curry sure did not hide his excitement when he took over the Jets' Twitter account.

“What’s up Jets Nation? Vinny Curry here, I’m back baby, and ready to take flight and kick some ass on the way. Let’s go! J-E-T-S Jets!”

Curry was an integral part of the Philadelphia Eagles when they won the Super Bowl in 2018. He's expected to bring experience, leadership, and tenacity to the Jets, whose defense has been a glaring problem for years now.

But perhaps most importantly, Curry's presence should inspire his young teammates, particularly quarterback Zach Wilson who had a largely underwhelming rookie campaign.

A guy coming back from a serious medical condition will always be a source of motivation.
