Jiri Prochazka has quite the unorthodox training method. Most UFC fighters punch bags or even mitts. The Czech fighter prefers to punch trees a crazy amount of times.

UFC light heavyweight Jiri Prochazka likes to punch a tree 500 times a day and calls it ‘good training.' This is something usually seen on viral videos where people are trying to show off their punching power and mental toughness.

Jiri Prochazka recently appeared on The MMA Hour where he discussed his crazy training regimen and why he felt like it was a good thing. The UFC contender wants to be ‘like a rock.'

“It’s helpful for me… it’s good for the body to be in the technique. To be like a rock,” Prochazka told Ariel Helwani. “Then I can go through the opponents’ bodies with my technique, and my technique can be more dangerous. It’s a good training for the body.

“After 200, 500 punches to the tree, then I go to the bag, and the bag is very easy.”

500 punches is a crazy amount of times to hit a tree but that's not even the craziest part. The UFC light heavyweight doesn't take any breaks when he's hitting the tree in question.

“No breaks. That’s how my training must be because if you wanna show something crazy, something new, you need to train like that.”

Jiri Prochazka last fought against Dominick Reyes in a UFC main event, he would win by knockout. Now he's expected to be the next challenger for the UFC light heavyweight champion Glover Teixeira.
