Despite all the bad news surrounding the Philadelphia 76ers with the injury to Ben Simmons, there is reason for excitement after all.
Rookie center Joel Embiid is slated to get the start on Tuesday's preseason game against the Boston Celtics.
Brett Brown told 97.5 The Fanatic the #Sixers starting lineup Tues:
Jerryd Bayless
Gerald Henderson
Robert Covington
Ben Simmons
Joel Embiid— Jeff McMenamin (@SixersBlog) September 30, 2016
Though we can probably figure that Simmons will be replaced by either Nerlens Noel, Dario Saric, or Hollis Thompson given the injury that will keep him sidelined for a while.
This will be Joel Embiid's first taste of real NBA action since being drafted third overall in the 2014 NBA Draft. His showing during these preseason games could determine a potential starting spot over Noel or Jahlil Okafor.
