Every July 4th, the entire world stops because of hot dogs. Well, it's really because of Joey Chestnut, who is the Micheal Jordan, Wayne Gretzky, Jerry Rice, and Babe Ruth of hot dog eating contest all rolled into one killing machine. True to his form, Chestnut won the 2021 edition of the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest down in Coney Island and not even ESPN's massive fail could stop the world from knowing the fact that up to this day, no one could beat the GOAT.
ESPN, the self-proclaimed Wide World of Sports to the Worldwide Leader in Sports just lost the feed of the contest for over 10 minutes as duly noted by one of its former employees, Darren Rovell.

Can we call this the “Blue Screen of Hot Dog Death?”

But again, that debacle by ESPN was not going to stop Joey Chestnut from going…nuts. He apparently even beat his own record, as he managed to shove 76 hot dogs down his throat to once again win the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest and at the same time, break his own record.

Just how dominant was Chestnut? He was totally untouched in this year's edition of the Nathan's Hot Dog Contest as he ate 26 more hot dogs than anyone on the field. Runner-up Geoffrey Esper only had 55 hot dogs, while third-placer Nick Wehry mustered just 44.
Chestnut has won this event every year since 2015.
Here's hoping that Takeru Kobayashi can make a return and challenge Chestnut again.
