John Cena makes an “appearance” in PGA TOUR 2K23. “Appearance” because, well, you can't really see him, can you?

And no, this is not an elaborate joke, not an April Fool's Day prank, but a real collaboration between PGA TOUR 2K23 and WWE 2K23. John Cena is coming to PGA TOUR 2K23 as a playable character come April 7, 2023. Additional new content, including playable pro golfer Nelly Korda, Spyglass Hill Golf Course, Pinehurst No. 2, Eastside Golf gear, Barstool Sports Fore Play Podcast playable golfers, and more will be coming soon.

In his in-game appearance in PGA TOUR 2K23, Cena ditches his oversized jersey and jorts in favor of a blue cap, a red polo shirt, and white pants, the same colors as he wears when he is playing the character Peacemaer in the DC Universe.

Having the licenses for the likeness of athletes and professional wrestlers allow 2K Games the ability to make these crazy crossovers. Earlier in PGA TOUR 2K23's life, it also introduced Steph Curry and Michael Jordan as playable golfers in the game, which weren't that surprising because they've been seen a lot of times on the golf course and would sometimes play high-profile games. However, John Cena, while he also plays golf in real life, hasn't been as public about it. After all, no one can see the 16-time WWE world champion when he plays golf.

Kidding aside, yes, both John Cena and Michael Jordan actually appear in two 2K games this year, and both of them are even cover athletes of their respective games. You can play PGA TOUR 2K23 right now, which currently is Metacritic's highest-rated golf simulator of 2023. But that could change when its returning rival, EA Sports PGA TOUR, actually makes a bigger splash that no Steph Curry, Michael Jordan, or even John Cena himself, would see coming.
