According to The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski, free agent center Jordan Hill has signed a deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves for two years at $8 million dollars.

Hill played last season as a third-string center for the Indiana Pacers after starting for the Los Angeles Lakers the previous two seasons. He averaged 8.8 points, 6.2 rebounds and 0.5 blocks per game for the Pacers.

The Timberwolves currently have a glut of big men on their roster that include Karl Anthony-Towns, Gorgui Dieng, Nikola Pekovic, Cole Aldrich, Adreian Payne, Nemanja Bjelica, and Kevin Garnett. There is high likelihood of seeing trades, or if nothing else players waived in the coming weeks.

Hill should be able to provide tough defense and rebounding off the bench, with occasional hustle plays and high post plays when he is in the game.

While a bit undersized, with many NBA teams running small lineups to play faster, Hill should have no problem finding at least spot minutes on the floor.

The Timberwolves are loading up looking to fight for a possible playoff spot next season, and they've just signed a bargain player with enough skill that can help get them closer to their goal.
