When Kevin Durant made the move to the Golden State Warriors back when free agency began in July, he did it with the sole goal being to compete into June and win an NBA Championship. Despite what every critic had to say about Durant, he powered through a leg injury and led his team to a 67-15 record in the regular season. Nearly one year after the decision to move to the West Coast, Durant led his team to an NBA Championship with averages of 35.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.6 blocks, and 1.0 steals per game.

It's no surprise to anyone that with those averages on 57 percent shooting from the field, 47 percent from beyond the arc, and 93 percent from the free throw line, Durant earned the 2017 NBA Finals MVP to go alongside his NBA Championship. In the last couple of years, Durant has been working out with the best player in the world in Cleveland Cavaliers' superstar LeBron James, and the has looked up to James for his ability to persevere through rough times in his career to win it all. When James won his second NBA Championship against the San Antonio Spurs with the Miami Heat, he famously posed for the camera with his second trophy and second MVP trophy.

That being said, Durant's celebration caught the eyes of many on Twitter, mainly for being eerily similar to James' celebration back in 2013.

Durant has had to shoulder a lot of criticism, so in a way, both championships brought some form of satisfaction and validation to the respective players careers, so the moment was almost like a sigh of relief. As everyone knows, the hardest thing to do after winning an NBA Championship is to do it again. We'll see how LeBron and the Cavs respond as well as how Durant and the Warriors respond.
