In the midst of playoff excellence, having won 11 straight games to start the postseason, forward Kevin Durant is certain he's where he wants to be and has found a new home with the Golden State Warriors, assuring he'll play for them next season, regardless of how the rest of the postseason plays out.

“I love it here,” Durant told Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated in quite the unequivocal tone. “I love my teammates. I love the city [of Oakland]. I love the organization. I love it here. I don’t plan on going anywhere else.”

As it is, the Warriors are one win away from tying the 2000-01 Los Angeles Lakers as the only teams to sweep their way to the NBA Finals, a feat that has been much maligned by fans and executives from other teams, given the competitive disparity. Though it has brought nothing but success to the one team which achieved it — beating out the Philadelphia 76ers 4-1 in the Finals to raise the second of three trophies in a three-year run.

Despite all the hoopla, the headlines and different narratives during this postseason, Durant has a newfound joy for the game of basketball, which he's channeled into his performances of late.

“It’s just basketball,” Durant said of playing with his new team. “You have people here who realize that the most important thing is it’s a game. You have fun. But you also should be passionate and dedicated. That is what everybody’s vision is. We know how important it is to everybody else. It’s not that serious.”

This sense of perception has allowed Durant to flourish into the most efficient version of himself at both ends of the floor, making himself into a notable two-way player that can change games on offense and defense — all while having fun playing the game.

“There is fine line between being passionate, taking it serious and being too serious,” Durant added. “We kind of tiptoe that line a little bit more so on the not-so-serious side. I think that’s what makes it fun and makes you have a good time.”
