Through the first four games of the NBA Finals, the Golden State Warriors have held firm control of the series over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Kevin Durant has been at the forefront of it all for the Warriors as their leading offensive scoring punch. According to Basketball Reference, Durant is on pace to put himself in an elite company in NBA Finals history.

The Cavaliers have yet to find an answer to slow down Durant as he scored at least 30 points in each game joining Hall of Famers Michael Jordan and Shaquille O'Neal as the only players to score at least 25 points in each of their first nine NBA Finals games. He's also the third player ever to notch 30 or more points in winning efforts in the first three games of the NBA Finals joining O'Neal and Hakeem Olajuwon.

What has been most impressive about Durant's performance is his efficiency shooting the ball hitting better than 53 percent from the field and 10 or more made fields goals in three of the first four games while knocking down multiple 3-pointers in each contest.

If the Warriors are able to win the NBA title, this has all put the 28-year-old as the heavy favorite to win the NBA Finals MVP award. Above all else, it would put the ultimate bow on the decision Durant made last summer.
