Sacramento Kings big man Marvin Bagley III has a non-displaced fracture in his right thumb and is expected to miss 4-6 weeks:

Bagley played 28 minutes against the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday. He finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds. The Kings lost by a final score of 124-95.

Bagley, the second overall pick in the 2018 draft, averaged 14.9 points and 7.6 rebounds during his rookie season while shooting an efficient 50.4 percent from the field, 31.3 percent from the 3-point line and 69.1 percent from the charity stripe.

This isn't how anyone in Sacramento wanted the season to start. It's one thing to lose to the Suns, but losing Bagley to an injury is just pouring salt in the wound.

The Kings haven't made the playoffs since 2006. There's still a long season ahead, but Sacramento now faces an uphill climb in a rugged Western Conference.
