The Sacramento Kings offered swingman Bogdan Bogdanovic a four-year, $51.4 million extension back in October.

However, Bodanovic refused to sign, saying he did not to rush his impending free-agent process. But, being a restricted free agent, the Kings will still have the opportunity to match any contract offered to Bogdanovic.

They plan to do just that, according to Jason Jones of The Athletic:

Re-signing restricted free agent Bogdan Bogdanovic will be the top priority. The Kings intend to match any offer sheet from another team, should Bogdanovic sign one.

The Kings already locked up Buddy Hield to a big extension, and Harrison Barnes will be around for the time being. Bringing back Bogdanovic would ensure the Kings solidify their wing group while also giving Sacramento their best floor-spacer.

Bogdanovic has been a reliable bench scorer and playmaker for the Kings, averaging 14.5 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists while shooting over 36 percent from beyond the arc on 7.2 attempts per game. He also has the height and versatility to switch between shooting guard and small forward.

The 27-year-old was garnering some interest prior to the trade deadline, with teams like the Philadelphia 76ers and Los Angeles Lakers both showing interest. However, the Kings never seriously dangled Bogdanovic.

Sacramento will have some money to spend when Kent Bazemore's expiring contract is off the books. And they will also have an additional $10 million in cap with Alex Len, Yogi Ferrell and Harry Giles all slated to become free agents.

Indeed, the Kings might have to pay a little extra to retain Bogdanovic, who might attract quite a bit of interest in a rather shallow wing market.
