New York Knicks forward Kristaps Porzingis has continued to make progressive strides forward in his development in his third season in the league.

At the same time, he has also remained a high-impact player on the defensive end of the court that has put him on pace for exclusive company in NBA history, according to ESPN Stats & Info.

In the absence of All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony, the 22-year-old has thrived as the No.1 scoring option for the Knicks this season averaging a career-high 23.5 points on 43.4 percent shooting from the field and a career-best 38 percent from beyond the arc with 2.4 blocks per contest. In fact, he is the only player in the NBA this season to have at least 935 points, 270 rebounds, 95 blocks and 70 3-pointers made.

He had begun the season on an offensive tear scoring 414 points in the first 15 games played while recording at least 25 points in 10 of those contests. He only trails Hall of Famers Bernard King (493) and Patrick Ewing (438) through that span. This also saw him become the youngest player in NBA history to score 30 or more points in five of the first six games of the season.

What has been most impressive about this has been his ability to shoulder an increased offensive load while remain an elite rim protector. His 289 blocks through his first 150 games played is only second in franchise history to Ewing (316). Porzingis is also one of 12 players to have more than 2,500 points and 250 blocks over that stretch joining the likes of Ewing, Tim Duncan, Shaquille O'Neal, Hakeem Olajuwon, Alonzo Mourning, David Robinson, and Ralph Sampson.

This has only further underlined that Porzingis is a uniquely talented player at his height standing over seven feet that can handle the ball like a guard while still effectively defend in the paint. He has nothing short of a bright future ahead of him that could see him quickly solidify himself as one of the best players in the league.
