The season hasn't even ended yet, but already Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie has already taken a dig at their cross-town rivals in the New York Knicks.

If you ask Dinwiddie himself, however, he's just speaking the truth:

“No, it’s not really shots. Like, I tell the truth. Y’all just don’t like truth and it turns into this whole big thing. Hey look, if y’all are buns, y’all are buns,” Spencer Dinwiddie joked about the Knicks, via Corey Hersch of Yahoo Sports. “Y’all got my guy Theo Pinson. I know y’all bench is going to be lively and dancing and stuff. It’s gonna be phenomenal to see. Still going to get your heads cracked. It is what it is.”

Kidding or not, those are some pretty savage words from Dinwiddie right there.

For those wondering, Dinwiddie is referring to 6-foot-5 shooting guard Theo Pinson, who was waived by the Nets in June, and quickly picked off the waiver wire by the Knicks not long after. The incoming third-year man appears to have left quite an impression on Dinwiddie, but with the 24-year-old joining the “enemy,” friendship needs to be set aside on the basketball court.

The Nets are fully expected to get both Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving back for the start of the 2020-21 campaign, which puts them in a great position to contend for a title. The Knicks, on the other hand, are not exactly at the same level as the Nets talent-wise, so there's no need to debate who's going to be the favorites when these two arch rivals face off in the new season.
