The world has long awaited a proper Princess Diana movie, and with Kristen Stewart cast, the world is anxiously awaiting a Spencer release date.
For those unaware, Kristen Stewart, who has evolved wonderfully as an actress of the years, has been cast to play Princess Diana in the upcoming movie Spencer.
According to the movie’s logline, the film set in December 1991 is about:
“The Prince and Princess of Wales’ marriage has long since grown cold. Though rumors of affairs and a divorce abound, peace is ordained for the Christmas festivities at Sandringham Estate. There’s eating and drinking, shooting and hunting. Diana knows the game. This year, things will be a whole lot different.”
Spencer Release Date: Fall of 2021
The movie is only in principal photography, but all signs point to a release in the Fall of 2021.
Given everything happening in the world, and depending on how the current global pandemic unfolds, this can obviously change as time goes on.

A few images have been leaked online. While some might doubt her capabilities, ignoring her work after those romantic vampire movies, Kristen Stewart looks the part as Princess Diana.
As mentioned in the logline, this isn’t inherently about the death of Princess Diana. Rather, Kristen Stewart will be taking on a role in which she’s essentially playing a rough weekend in the life of the tragically deceased woman. If the film is indeed set in 1991, six years before her tragic passing, it would take a substantial time-jump to get there.
Clearly, the movie can get there and/or just note the happening in a pre-credits move.
Obviously, only time will tell if the movie is any good. Until then, we at least have a vague Spencer release date and got a glimpse of Kristen Stewart as Princess Diana. I’d consider that a win.
