The Los Angeles Lakers lost their second game of the 2021-22 season, at home yet again, when they folded against the Phoenix Suns, 115-105.

All of the preseason hype appears to be for naught at this early stage as the Lakers have now lost two in a row. After watching their team go winless in their exhibition slate, Los Angeles fans took solace in the fact that this aberration won't be present in the regular season.

During their matchup with the Suns on Friday night, an ugly scene came about as Anthony Davis and Dwight Howard exchanged unpleasantries on the Lakers bench. This meltdown didn't escape the watchful eye of Magic Johnson, who took to Twitter to express his disapproval of their behavior.

“Dwight Howard and AD got into a physical altercation on the bench…in my 42 years of being associated with the Lakers organization, I’ve never seen something like that smh.”

Following the game, Howard downplayed the situation and stressed that they were able to patch things up right away. However, the bigger issue should be on how the Lakers can shake off their sluggish start.

The Lakers did lose to a couple of strong teams in the Suns and Golden State Warriors. However, it shouldn't even be an excuse, considering the overflowing talent and star power on the Tinseltown squad. With countless years of experience on the roster, these players should be more composed than what everyone witnessed on the night.

Anthony Davis and Dwight Howard will have an opportunity to redeem themselves when the Lakers host Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday.
