LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Lakers continue to roll with LeBron James and company putting on a clinic against the visiting San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday night at the Staples Center. Los Angeles cruised to a 27-point victory over Gregg Popovich's squad with LeBron having an epic stretch in the fourth quarter to put his stamp on the rout of the storied franchise.

LeBron put on a show in the fourth quarter against the Spurs with the Lakers superstar hitting five consecutive three-pointers. James was virtually unguardable during this hot streak, and Anthony Davis talked about his teammate getting in the zone after the game.

“Player of the Month,” Davis said of James. “He came out aggressive, and he works on those shots all the time; him and Phil [Handy]. He was able to make them, and obviously, as you could see, we were all excited. It kind of created that separation in the game by itself, but he's a hell of a player… He came out on fire and created that separation for us.”

After LeBron knocked down his fifth straight three in the fourth, the Lakers bench rushed to help him up and congratulate him for an impressive run that the Spurs had no answer for. Davis talked about the bench mobbing James after seeing him do his thing in the fourth.

“We were very excited! I mean, when a guy gets hot like that… He just made them in different ways, and it's just always fun to watch him. We were all excited, we were all saying ‘heat check' and getting him the ball, and he was looking for it, and guys were looking for him on the floor.”

With this win over the Spurs, the Lakers remain atop the Western Conference standings with a record of 38-11. Davis and company have won six of their last 10 games with the L.A. Clippers three and a half games back.

The Lakers will host James Harden and the Houston Rockets on Thursday after the NBA trade deadline in what will likely be a tough matchup, especially if the team makes a trade and could potentially be shorthanded.
