The NBA is doing everything it can to make the bubble environment as comfortable as possible for the players. One of the league's first attempts at providing entertainment involved throwing pool parties complete with a live DJ at each team hotel. This did not exactly go as planned, with Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis reporting that teammate Dwight Howard was the lone attendee of the party at the Lakers' hotel, the Gran Destino Tower at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort.

According to the Lakers' star big man, he didn't even know about the party until Howard told him about his experience:

“The first time I heard about the DJ thing was (Sunday),” Davis said, via Joe Vardon of The Athletic. “Dwight (Howard) told me he was the only one there. I think, quite frankly, a lot of guys didn’t know about it. I know the NBA is trying to make this as comfortable as possible and as relaxing as possible for us, and just make everyone feel as home as possible.”

We have to wonder what the Lakers center looked like sitting alone at this party. That probably would have looked like a cruel prank performed on an unsuspecting protagonist of a high school-themed movie. The NBA likely hired some photographers to cover the event, but we're pretty sure they won't be releasing any of the photos considering how the party absolutely bombed.

As Davis noted above, however, it might have just been a communications issue. Perhaps the players weren't made aware of the party, which is why literally not a single person — except for an enthusiastic Howard, of course — attended.

Still, we have to commend the league for this gesture, and as it appears, the players are appreciative, too. It's just a matter of them knowing about these opportunities, I guess.
