Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard changed his appearance this summer, so much so that Bill Walton didn't recognize Howard when the two sat next to each other at the ESPY Awards.

Howard has a new hair style and lost a lot of weight. The Lakers big man told the story of Walton not recognizing him in an interview with Shams Charania of Stadium.

“I went to the ESPYs. I sat next to Bill Walton. And he says, ‘How you doing I'm Bill Walton.' And I say, ‘I'm Dwight Howard.' He says, ‘No you're not!' And I was like, ‘Something wrong with Bill.' That's what I said at first.

“He said, ‘Are you really Dwight Howard?' And I was like, ‘Yes.' He was like, ‘You don't look like him.' So I was like, ‘It's really me.' And so we stood up and he said, ‘It's really you! You're Dwight Howard. You got different hair. You got tattoos. What's going on? You look so different, but I love it.' He didn't recognize me.”

Bill Walton is an interesting character to say the least. If you've ever heard the Hall of Famer talk on his college basketball telecasts, you know he can be a little dingy sometimes.

However, Dwight Howard does look a lot different these days, so we'll give Walton the benefit of the doubt.
