NBA insider Chris Haynes said that he'd be ‘surprised' if the Los Angeles Lakers doesn't trade the fourth overall pick of the 2019 NBA Draft.

Per Yahoo Sports NBA, Haynes believes that the fourth overall pick won't be donning the purple and gold come the 2019-2020 season. He has a strong belief that the Lakers will trade the pick away:

“I would be very surprised if that fourth pick—first of all, I'd be surprised if they picked that, make that pick, then I'd be surprised if that pick is on their roster come the 2019-20 season,” Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports said Wednesday.

Haynes' comments come in after Lakers general manager tagged the no.4 pick as an ‘asset.' From Haynes' point of view, it simply means that they have no intentions of keeping the pick.

Besides, the Lakers already have a core of young guys in Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, and Brandon Ingram. And with LeBron James in the team, the goal is to win now — not to develop any more youngsters.

Given this reality, Haynes believes that the Lakers will likely insert the fourth pick into a package to acquire one or more players. The favorite is Anthony Davis — an elite player whom the Lakers gunned for in February but failed.

Indeed, it will be an interesting offseason for the Lakers. Let's see if they can, once and for all, turn their team into a championship contender.
