LeBron James has made no secret of his affinity for Damian Lillard's game, and it's safe to say the superstar pair continued developing their relationship this summer on the set of Space Jam 2. It should come as no surprise, then, that the Portland Trail Blazers' franchise player capitalized on building anticipation for his third album as rapper Dame D.O.L.L.A. by giving the four-time MVP and noted music lover an advanced copy.

James obliged by bumping Lillard's latest during a Thursday morning workout, giving the masses a sneak peak of the album, titled Big D.O.L.L.A., on his Instagram story.

In an interview with Steven Louis of Passion of the Weiss, Lillard discussed how his third full-length album differs from his previous offers, The Letter O and Confirmed.

“It’s a transformation, not of who I am as a person but with where my life is. This one is different,” he said. “Both of those albums kind of told a story, of coming into my own. The Letter O had a lot of storytelling, that’s my story, a calmer album. Confirmed was a little bit harder, an updated me if you’re looking at both, that one just sounds like an update … but this one is levels above that. It’s where I am now. A few max contracts in, my name is bigger, I’ve got better stuff, my life has been elevated. It’s humble flexin’ on there [laughs].”

Lillard sure has a lot of flexing to do. His game-winning, instant-classic 35-footer over the outstretched arms of Paul George in the first round of the playoffs not only eliminated the Oklahoma City Thunder, but made Lillard one of two players in league history – joining Michael Jordan – with multiple series-clinching buzzer-beaters. He just signed a five-year, $196 million extension with the Blazers, too.

Assuming you aren't LeBron, Big D.O.L.L.A. will be available via streaming services at midnight on the east coast.
