Los Angeles Lakers veteran big man Dwight Howard had a quiet evening on Wednesday, as his side secured a 117-107 victory against the Phoenix Suns. The 34-year-old logged 16 minutes and finished with eight points, four rebounds, and a steal, as he provided some quality minutes off L.A.'s bench.

Despite his rather unproductive outing, however, the Lakers center actually achieved quite a tremendous feat against Phoenix.

As stated above, there aren't many other players in the league who have reached this milestone, with Howard being the ninth player in the entire history of the NBA to have achieved such an impressive feat.

Dwight Howard, a three-time Defensive Player of the Year winner and a five-time All-Defensive team member, will go down in history as one of the best defensive big men this sport has ever seen and based on his most recent statistical achievement, he will have the numbers to back up this bold claim.

Howard is now far from the juggernaut he once was during his prime, but there is no doubt that his presence on the floor still poses as a problem for opposing offenses whether as a defender or a lob threat. In 34 appearances for the Lakers this season, the eight-time All-Star is currently averaging 7.1 points, 6.8 rebounds, 0.4 steals, and 1.3 blocks in 19.5 minutes per contest. He may no longer be in contention for a fourth DPotY title, but it is without question that he has played a crucial role for the Lakers' second unit thus far, and has been an important part of L.A.'s early-season success.
