Miami Heat president Pat Riley was recently fined $25,000 for his remarks on a potential reunion with Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James. After hearing the news, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh had some rather funny reactions to the latest turn of events.

In an appearance on The Jump, Rachel Nichols asked Wade and Bosh about their thoughts on the fine and Riley's comments on the Lakers forward. For Bosh, he believes the Heat president “meant things to be tongue-in-cheek,” though he could be a “little bit serious.” The former All-Star big man then went on to say that the veteran executive is probably just thinking of ways to win and improve the roster and he ended up reflecting on their last run to the Finals.

On the other hand, Wade was rather tame since he is now part of the ownership of the Utah Jazz and can't really comment on such matters. However, he just had one thing to say (aside from Pat's 25,000 dress socks): It's “Pat Riley doing Pat Riley things.”

Well, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh sure know how Riley's mind works.

While it is possible that the Heat exec was just reflecting on Miami's Finals runs with LeBron James from 2010 to 2014 when he said that the “key is under the mat” if the Lakers leader wants to return, his remarks certainly reeks of tampering. Besides, even Daryl Morey simply tweeting about Stephen Curry to “join 'em” and then quickly explaining it to avoid misinterpretation got him and the Philadelphia 76ers fined.

Riley will probably be more careful talking about LeBron moving forward. But hey, it sure made for a fun story and content that got people talking after the Lakers and Heat were eliminated in the 2021 playoffs.
