Los Angeles Lakers head coach Frank Vogel says LeBron James “has had a great summer physically.” The new Lakers coach also can't wait to coach Anthony Davis this upcoming season.

James and Davis are two of the top-five players in the NBA. The Lakers are hoping the two superstars can bring banner number 17 to the franchise in 2019-20 under the guidance of Vogel and the rest of his coaching staff.

“LeBron has had a great summer physically and is in great shape,” Vogel told Mike Trudell of Lakers.com. “Seeing AD up close and personal just gets you excited about what his season is going to look like.”

LeBron James has effectively been resting since April. The Lakers missed the playoffs last season, as they weren't able to rebound from the 6-11 stretch they went through when James was out with his groin injury.

After missing the playoffs last season for the first time since his second year in the league, James has been sitting back and hearing all these pundits slander his name this offseason despite averaging 27.4 points, 8.5 rebounds and 8.3 assists in 55 games in 2018-19.

As he always does, James has taken the high road and is just focusing on what he can control. “Revenge LeBron” has been the theme this summer for James.

For the New Orleans Pelicans in 2018-19, Davis put up 25.9 points, 12.0 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.4 blocks in 56 games. The six-time All-Star shot 51.7 percent from the floor, 33.1 percent from the 3-point line and 79.4 percent from the charity stripe.

It’s going to be a lot of fun to watch LeBron and Davis play together, and Frank Vogel will have the best seat in the house every night.
