Los Angeles Lakers assistant Jason Kidd says Frank Vogel is a “great coach” and he's looking forward to using his experience as a player to help Vogel next season.

The Lakers hired Kidd and Lionel Hollins as Vogel's lead assistants on the Lakers. Kidd has coached the Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks before, while Hollins has coached the Memphis Grizzlies and Nets.

Kidd, a Hall of Famer, says he can help Vogel understand what the players on the Lakers are going through since he's been in their shoes.

“When you talk about Frank Vogel, great human being, great coach, and I'm just lucky to have the opportunity to learn under him and to be able to help him when he asks for help,” Kidd told ESPN. “And from my past experience as a head coach, but also just as a player, as an older player, to be able to help him understand some of the things those guys are going through.”

Jason Kidd has a close relationship with Lakers superstar LeBron James already. Kidd is probably going to mesh well with James and Rajon Rondo the best.

Rondo, Kidd and James are three of the smartest basketball minds in NBA history. The Lakers are lucky to have those guys in Vogel's presence.
