Los Angeles Lakers center JaVale McGee played only eight minutes against the Houston Rockets in Game 2 due to a left ankle sprain.

Fortunately, McGee will be able to play in Game 3 on Tuesday after his MRI came back negative, per Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.

The Lakers and Rockets are tied at 1-1 in the second round of the playoffs. Game 3 is crucial since it will give the winner of the series the lead and the much-needed momentum as the playoffs continue.

Thus far in the 2020 playoffs, JaVale McGee is averaging 4.9 points and 4.7 rebounds in seven starts. He's shooting 70.8 percent from the field in 12.6 minutes a night.

The Lakers won Game 2 behind the stellar performances of superstars LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Rajon Rondo and Markieff Morris were huge off the bench as well. The Purple and Gold will need to lock in on head coach Frank Vogel's gameplan right from the start since the Rockets are going to come out hungry for revenge.

L.A. also needs to be cognizant of Rockets superstar point guard Russell Westbrook, who was awful in Game 2. The former MVP is looking to have a bounce back night in Game 3, so the Lakers have to expect Westbrook to be in attack mode for every single minute he's on the floor.

Dwight Howard surprisingly didn't play at all in Game 2 despite McGee getting hurt. It will be interesting to see if the former star big man sees any playing time in Game 3 for the Lakers.
