It was a Sunday night of dominance for Los Angeles Lakers rising star power forward Julius Randle against the Cleveland Cavaliers at Staples Center. In fact, the numbers that Randle put up during the 127-113 victory over the Cavs have not been done by a Lakers player since March of 2008 by legendary shooting guard Kobe Bryant.

As the game's leading scorer, Randle exploded for a career-high 36 points on 14-of-18 shooting from the field and 8-of-10 from the charity stripe, 14 rebounds, seven assists, two blocked shots and one steal in 38 minutes of action.

Randle's highlights were made into a video montage and tweeted by the NBA's official account after the Lakers' impressive victory, which can be viewed below.

The Cavs had absolutely zero answers for Randle as he gashed their defense down in the paint repeatedly throughout the night.

Lakers head coach Luke Walton couldn't help but be extremely impressed with Randle's performance. However, he still thinks that this is just the tip of the iceberg for the 23-year-old forward.

Via a tweet after the game from Tania Ganguli of the Los Angeles Times:

“He was pretty special. Showed a lot of what he can do. The crazy thing is, I still think he can be better,” Walton said of Randle.

The Lakers (30-36) are now an impressive 18-9 since Jan. 7 when they finally put an end to their nine-game losing streak. Julius Randle continues to be a beast in the starting lineup for Los Angeles this season and, like coach Walton said, is still seemingly only going to get better.
