Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant and Portland Trail Blazers guard C.J. McCollum got into a little heated Twitter conversation earlier this week. This came after McCollum had Durant on an episode of his podcast last week where Durant told the young Blazers guard his team had no chance to make it out of the Western Conference or win a title.

During another part of that segment, Durant touched on another topic that's been highly discussed: The LeBron James-Michael Jordan debate and when Jordan would be surpassed as the greatest of all time. Durant named his Mount Rushmore, and added that anyone who will pass MJ will have to pass Bryant first. Via the “Pull Up with CJ McCollum” podcast, h/t Lakers Nation:

“They gotta get past Kobe first. … MJ, Kobe, Kareem, Bird (named on Durant’s Mount Rushmore).”

It's no surprise that Durant has Bryant in his top two players of all time. He grew up during Bryant's best years and idolized him growing up. Unfortunately for him, the fact that he currently plays in the NBA might make blind to the fact that LeBron James may have already surpassed Bryant. That, however, depends on who you ask nowadays.

Durant just came off his second straight NBA championship and second straight NBA Finals MVP with the Golden State Warriors. He averaged 26.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 0.7 steals, and 1.8 blocks per game on 51.6 percent shooting from the field and 41.9 percent from beyond the arc. Durant will look to lead his team to a third consecutive year atop the NBA.
