Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis has been killing it since he returned from his knee injury. While he only scored eight points in his return game against the Brooklyn Nets on Jan. 25, he has scored at least 27 points in each of the other five games he has played, with three games of 30 or more points to his name. Davis continued his dominance on Saturday in a 122-115 overtime victory over the New York Knicks, going for 28 points, 17 rebounds, three assists, four blocks and three steals in 41 minutes.

After the game, LeBron James noted that Davis' absence “brought back the hunger” for the Lakers' star big man, and Davis admitted the time off from the knee injury helped him reevaluate himself and changed his mindset after the early-season malaise:

While Davis had good numbers before the knee injury, he wasn't quite the dominant force the Lakers needed him to be. He seems to be rounding into form now, though Los Angeles hasn't been able to find a groove just yet because of LeBron James' own injury problems.

LeBron was back on the court Saturday night against the Knicks, but it still took overtime to beat the struggling squad from New York. There was more drama involving Russell Westbrook, which will continue to be a storyline.

Even so, it's great to see Davis back and dominating as expected. If the Lakers are going to make any type of noise this season, they're going to need LeBron and AD at the top of their games.
