It was earlier reported that Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is spearheading a pre-training camp minicamp for his team. As it turns out, this is not just your typical camp where players come in halfheartedly after being asked to cut their summer vacations short for unofficial team business.

Shams Charania of The Athletic reports James appears to be taking a very serious approach with regards to the minicamp, so this should serve as a warning to all the members of the Lakers:

Sources say James is extremely serious-minded about this minicamp — an essentially players-only bonding experience on and off the floor.

James is not kidding around here, as he looks to take this opportunity to build much-needed chemistry within a new-look Lakers side. A lot of guys came and went this offseason, and LeBron understands the players will need to get comfortable with each other first before they are able to set out on a collective goal.

Despite his typically great stats, James had a forgettable debut season with the Purple & Gold last year, and he seems determined to have a much better outing with L.A. this time around. The arrival of one of the league's best big men in Anthony Davis should definitely help the cause, as the Lakers will be fielding a side that will now possess two of the top superstars in the NBA today.

For LeBron, it's all about setting the tone early, and he has no intention of waiting until the start of training camp before he gets his message across to his new-look team.
