The Atlanta Hawks tried ribbing forward Carmelo Anthony by sending him his Hawks jersey via a Twitter post. This move caught LeBron James' attention and the new Lakers' main man had to react to it.

In a Twitter post, James had this to say to his close friend and Olympic teammate:

James, Anthony, Dwyane Wade and Chris Paul are all part of the ‘Banana Boat' squad and are all pretty close to one another.

Carmelo Anthony played last season with Paul George and Russell Westbrook, forming a lethal three-headed dragon in offense. However, things did not turn out as expected and Melo played one of the worst seasons of his career in OKC.  Anthony posted career lows in scoring, field-goal percentage, free-throw percentage and assists.

This prompted the management to finally pull the trigger on his trade deal that sent the sweet-shooting forward to the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for point guard Dennis Schroder. The Sixers were also a part of the deal.

The Hawks received Justin Anderson from the 76ers and a protected 2022 first-round pick from the Thunder while the latter received Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot from Philly. The Sixers, on the other hand, added Mike Muscala from Atlanta.

But his stint with Atlanta was short-lived and his contract was immediately bought out. Melo is set to team up with close pals Chris Paul and James Harden after verbally agreeing to sign with the Rockets. Critics are saying that Anthony should come off the bench since his efficiency has gone down now. It may be signs of Father Time calling but Melo is adamant he still has a lot in his tank.
