The Los Angeles Lakers are coming off their most disappointing season in franchise history, missing the playoffs altogether after such high expectations. While LeBron James played at a ridiculous level for a 37-year-old, the Russell Westbrook experiment failed and Anthony Davis couldn't stay healthy.
That being said, LeBron is now eligible to sign a two-year extension with the Lakers this summer, but according to Sam Amick of The Athletic, it's more likely he sees out his contract. But going even further, Bleacher Report's Eric Pincus says there appears to be no rush on the part of LeBron and Klutch to make a decision.

Sources at Klutch Sports insist those internal discussions on James' future haven't taken place yet. However, James was non-committal after his exit meeting with the team last week.
Not exactly surprising. There is no clear direction for the Lakers and maybe The King does not want to lock himself in to another extension just yet. Their offseason moves will be crucial in his future decision, but after a 33-49 season, you'd have to believe James is pretty fed up.
Needless to say, the outcome of the 2022-2023 Lakers season will certainly be a deciding factor for LeBron James.
