The Los Angeles Lakers may have won the Western Conference, but LeBron James knows their journey is far from over.

After being crowned the West champs following their Game 5 victory against the Denver Nuggets, LeBron  reiterated that the “job is not done” as they still have to conquer the NBA Finals.

For what it’s worth, LeBron James’ Lakers teammates have echoed the same sentiment in their series against the Nuggets and after their victory. To recall, Dwight Howard also said their “job is not finished” after they went 3-1 up of Denver — quoting Kobe Bryant who said the exact same thing after LA got a 2-0 series lead in the 2009 NBA Finals.

Kyle Kuzma, JaVale McGee and Jared Dudley all said the same thing after Game 5 win.

LeBron (and the rest of the Lakers for the matter) looks like he is channeling his inner Kobe as they prepare for the NBA Finals. The King is locked in on their main goal, which is to win banner no.17 for the storied franchise.

The Lakers have also said multiple times that they are dedicating this season to the late Kobe Bryant, who passed away in a helicopter crash last January. Kobe was with his daughter Gianna and seven other passengers in the unfortunate accident.

Frank Vogel’s squad will have a quite a break as they wait for the winner of the Eastern Conference Finals series between the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics. Game 6 between the two is on Sunday, with the South beach franchise leading 3-2.
