Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James made history Wednesday night by eclipsing Wilt Chamberlain's career scoring total and moving to the fifth place in the NBA's points ladder.

James came up big for Tinseltown when the Lakers hosted the Portland Trail Blazers, finishing the night with 44 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists, one steal, and three blocks. He also shot the ball well as he drained five of his six three-point attempts and 13 of his 15 free throws.

After the game, LeBron James looked back on his achievement and the future Hall of Famer had nothing but respect for the great Wilt Chamberlain.

History tells everyone that Chamberlain is one of the most unstoppable players ever. Throughout his career, the Big Dipper held averages of 30.1 points, 22.9 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game. Among his countless statistical feats, his 100-point game stands out. But other than that, Chamberlain also managed to average 50 points per game throughout an entire season. In his rookie year, he was already grabbing 27 rebounds nightly.

LeBron James now has Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Karl Malone, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar ahead of him in the scoring leaderboard. With the way he hasn't slowed down despite his age and mileage, don't be surprised if the Lakers superstar ends up atop that list when it's all said and done.
