Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James made history by surpassing Wilt Chamberlain in the NBA's all-time scoring ladder. He's now in fifth place after registering 44 points against the Portland Trail Blazers Wednesday night.

LeBron James reached the feat with a strong drive to the basket that also came with a foul. But the four-time Most Valuable Player wasn't only scoring against Portland. He was all over the floor with 10 rebounds, nine assists, one steal, three blocks, and five 3-pointers to his name. James even made 13 of his 15 free throws.

Wilt Chamberlain will forever be regarded as one of the most imposing and dominant figures to ever play the game. His achievements speak for themselves and his anomalous numbers — highlighted by his 100-point game — are legendary.

While it's remarkable to think that James has now reached this point, the fact that he's been wired to make plays for his teammates only makes this accomplishment crazier. After his rookie season where he averaged 20.9 points per game, the future Hall of Famer has never finished a campaign with a scoring average of less than 25.3 per outing.

LeBron James has been doing this for 15 years and there are no signs of him slowing down, making it a legitimate possibility that he could become the NBA's all-time scoring leader when calls it a career. By then, who knows how many titles the Lakers star would have won and where he'll stand in the Greatest Of All-Time conversation.
