Friday's Christmas Day slate featured a tasty matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Dallas Mavericks. The defending champions were up by a considerable margin towards the end of the third period and for some reason, LeBron James thought it was a good idea to throw up a rather ill-advised three-pointer that seemed like he was playing a round of H.O.R.S.E. mid-game.

It was unsurprising that LeBron bricked his inexplicable one-footed long distance attempt.

The Lakers were up by a comfortable margin at that point and they were in clear control of the matchup. LeBron went for the two-for-one situation with 16 seconds remaining in their shot clock. Nevertheless, it was still baffling. Then again, this is LeBron we're talking about, so it's safe to say that he has a license to shoot—any type of shot he fancies, as it turns out.

He ended up finishing with 22 points, seven rebounds, and 10 assists as the Lakers rolled to an easy 138-115 victory.

It is worth noting that LeBron James came into the matchup with a minor ankle injury and was actually questionable to suit up at one point. The four-time league MVP sustained it in their opening night defeat at the hands of crosstown rivals Los Angeles Clippers.

Additionally, Lakers superstar big man Anthony Davis was also dealing with a right calf contusion, and it was also unsure if the 27-year-old was going to be able to take the court.

But eventually, both stars were deemed fit enough to play against the Mavericks. After all, this was a Christmas Day prime matchup against Luka Doncic and company.
