LeBron James has more time than one would typically want after the Los Angeles Lakers failed to make the postseason in 2022. But, at least making the most of his lengthy offseason.

The King surprised his I Promise School students on Thursday in a truly heartwarming moment. Check it out:

Talk about paying it forward from the Lakers star. Back to his roots in Akron, Ohio where the school was built. The kids were absolutely shocked to see LeBron show up and you could tell just how happy they really were to meet their idol and the one who gave them a chance to go to a beautiful elementary school. The King also responded to the tweet with an awesome message:

James certainly has nothing to be ashamed of following an impressive campaign for the Lakers. Despite their inability to perform around him, the 37-year-old averaged 30.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 6.2 assists in 56 games played. He did miss 26 contests due to injury, though.

The Lakers have a lot of work to do this summer and they definitely have a decision to make on Russell Westbrook, who failed to fit in during his first year with LA. His massive contract will be hard to move, but perhaps Russ could do better with a brand new head coach. Only time will tell.
