Los Angeles Lakers rookie point guard Lonzo Ball is set to miss more time due to a nagging knee injury that will keep him out at least three games, according to Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times.

Lonzo Ball likely out Friday too – knee injury will cost him at least three games.

Ball has performed well for the Lakers this season, averaging 10.2 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 7.1 assists. After the Lakers lost nine straight games, Ball was responsible for turning the ship upright again and helping the Lakers win four out of five games when he was in the starting lineup.

It has now become apparent this season that Ball is indeed the lottery pick-caliber talent the Lakers drafted him to be. While he isn't a dynamic scorer, Ball is an excellent facilitator who can dictate the offense with timely passes and fastbreak plays. The Lakers will already miss him during a marquee showdown against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night, and he might miss Friday's game against the Pacers as well.

Ball has been involved in some controversy lately, and it has been from his comments off the court. He has been criticized for not standing up to his father, mainly because LaVar Ball continually criticizes the Lakers' and coaching staff. The mild-mannered point guard often refuses to say anything negative to his father and resorts to just playing basketball. In any case, the Lakers will surely miss the talent of their star point guard in the remaining two games that he will be out.

Hopefully, Ball can return for the Lakers soon and help them win more games down the road.
