In salary cap news, the Los Angeles Lakers still have the room exception available to sign another player and go, per ESPN's Bobby Marks:
Update on LAL cap situation: The team still has the $4.8M room ML. Since the team did not exhaust all of their cap space yesterday ( $1.7M remaining), they can still sign Alex Caruso (had a $1.6M cap hold) using the using early bird provision and exceed the cap.

The Lakers will re-sign guard Alex Caruso using Early Bird rights, giving them the opportunity to still use the full room exception.
Some of LA's other moves include re-signing JaVale McGee, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and Rajon Rondo, plus signing Danny Green, Jared Dudley, Quinn Cook, and DeMarcus Cousins.
The Lakers acquired All-Star power forward Anthony Davis in a trade with the New Orleans Pelicans, which cost the purple and gold young players Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, and Josh Hart and multiple first-round picks, including the fourth overall pick, which the Pelicans in turn traded to the Atlanta Hawks.
The Lakers are attempting to build a top contending team in the Western Conference following successive moves that may have eliminated the Warriors from maintaining a chokehold on the conference. After five straight Finals appearances for Stephen Curry and company, two-time Finals MVP Kevin Durant left the West for the Eastern Conference's Brooklyn Nets — joining point guard Kyrie Irving — and Klay Thompson tore his ACL in the decisive Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals, effectively sidelining him for potentially half the upcoming season or more.
Following the Clippers' acquisitions of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, Los Angeles is in a heated arms race to build the best contender heading into the fall, with the Lakers headlined by LeBron James and Davis, plus the free-agent signings previously details.
