Given all the attention he’s had even before entering the league, Lonzo Ball has experienced the highs and lows when it comes to comments from fans, as well as from members of the media. From criticizing him for his poor performances, to receiving a lot of praise for notching two triple-doubles so far as a pro, it’s been both the good and bad treatment for the Los Angeles Lakers rookie.

Following his stellar game on Sunday where he recorded 11 points, 16 rebounds, and 11 assists, head coach Luke Walton is already anticipating how the media will react to his prized rookie, via Ryan Ward of ClutchPoints. He made it known that he thinks Lonzo Ball will be very much loved the following day, and hated the day after that, which has been the case so far for him.

While that could happen, Lonzo Ball could change the cycle if he starts playing more consistently, and build on the the huge game he had on Sunday. His triple-double may propel him to produce more efficient shooting percentages, and continue his impressive all-around game, which the Lakers badly need as they try to string a few wins together.

Should Lonzo Ball fail in doing so, he might be on the receiving end of more hate than love from the media, as the expectations on him are not expected to lower down anytime soon.
