In the midst of all the brouhaha going on within the Los Angeles Lakers organization following the resignation of Magic Johnson as the team's president, Lakers head coach Luke Walton took a step back to reflect on his experience this season in coaching the great LeBron James.

The 39-year-old head coach had nothing but good things to say about LeBron and the experience he had in his first season coaching the three-time NBA champ:

“It was great,” Walton exclaimed, via ClutchPoints' Ryan Ward. “The only thing that was hard was he got hurt. It takes time to build a relationship with somebody, but as our relationship grew & I got to see what it was like coaching him, he was great. I believe if we could have stayed healthy, we would have had a very successful season. He's an incredible player.”

James had to sit out a significant part of the season due to a lingering groin issue. The 15-time All-Star managed only 55 appearances for the Lakers, which was his lowest mark in his entire 16-year career.

Walton went on to say that despite spending practically every single day of the season with LeBron, the 34-year-old still never fails to amaze him:

“He's an incredible superstar in how unselfish he is,” added Walton. “It still blows me away, the talent that he is, to constantly be looking to make the right pass & the extra pass.”

Despite his glowing review, it appears that Walton may be on his way out of Los Angeles this summer. Sadly, whatever relationship these two may have built appears to be one that is about to come to an abrupt conclusion.
