Rajon Rondo is officially back with the Los Angeles Lakers, joining other guys rewinding it with the squad, including Dwight Howard, Trevor Ariza and Wayne Ellington.

In the first place, Rondo shouldn't have been released last season, especially after being an integral piece to the Lakers' title run in the NBA Bubble. While many people have already written him off, the wily playmaker once again proved that the legend of Playoff Rondo lives on.

Now, he's eager to show it again with LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Russell Westbrook and the rest of the souped-up crew. A few moments before his press conference on Tuesday, Rondo took it all in as he formally made his return, recording a video message for the fans (via Lakers Twitter).

As he said, he's looking forward to great things once again with the Lakers. The team saw an early exit last season due to a rash of injuries to LeBron, Davis and Alex Caruso. While the squad certainly had talent, there were plenty of moments in crucial stretches of the campaign (especially when LBJ was out) that they were in dire need of a strong leader—something that Rondo has mastered.

Rondo expressed his frustration about not getting enough opportunities with the Los Angeles Clippers last season, and with the Lakers only having Westbrook and Kendrick Nunn as true point guards, the 35-year-old veteran could get ample minutes off the bench.

Nature is healing because Rondo is back with the Lakers.
