FOX Sports analyst and NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe thinks LeBron James should request a trade from the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Lakers are a mess right now. They were widely expected to hire Tyronn Lue, but negotiations fell apart after LA didn't offer Lue a long-term deal.

There have been rumors that some confidants of Lakers owner Jeanie Buss are telling her to trade James. Sharpe thinks LeBron should tell Buss to get it done:

“LeBron's probably saying, ‘What the hell did I get myself into?' If I'm LeBron, I'm like, ‘Hey Jeanie, remember you thought about trading me? How about you follow through?' They knew Ty wasn't going to accept a three-year deal after Luke & Monty got five-year deals.”

James signed a four-year deal with the Lakers last summer. Lue reportedly felt disrespected by the Lakers' three-year offer because essentially they were saying he could only coach a LeBron-led team.

Los Angeles hasn't made the playoffs since 2013. LeBron just missed the postseason for the first time since his second season in the league during his first stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers. To make matters even worse, Magic Johnson stepped down from his president role, a move which shocked LeBron.

James doesn't have a no-trade clause in his contract with the Lakers.
